Afghanistan

PICT0059.JPG

The above pictures of Afghanistan were taken during a time of peace and safety. You could go and travel anywhere you wanted to. Many things have changed since this time but many things remain the same. Afghanistan still holds the beauty of it's snow covered mountains and watered valleys. We were part of a close nit community whose only desire was to help the people of Afghanistan and to share what we had in Christ. The above scenes include those of a sport called Buz-kashi in the ruins of Alexander-the-Great known as Balk. The camels and villages and tea shops were all typical of the country-side people. The Mosque of Mazare-sharif, certainly beautiful in its own rite. Then there were the lakes near Bommiyan where I ask my wife to marry me.  The soldiers were happy to pose with a foreigner showing off their guns. On a hill above the city of Mamina, I was able to take a picture of a private courtyard. I helped a farmer with his stack of wheat and his home-made pitch-fork. In looking at these pictures, remember to pray for the people of Afghanistan that above all, they would come to know the love of Jesus in their hearts.
